Broadway Shows - NY

To officially be "On Broadway" a theatrical performance must actively be held in one of the 40 professional theatres located in the Theater District of New York City centered along Broadway or in Lincoln Center located in Manhattan. These venues must be able to seat 500 or more patrons for the stage play or musical to be considered a Broadway show. As a general rule performances with open-ended runs often have evening shows Tuesday - Saturday around 7-8pm. Matinée performances occur at 2pm Wednesdays and Saturdays - 3pm on Sundays. Many shows do not play on Monday and Broadway is said to be "dark". Shows put on by Disney are known to change their scheduling throughout the year so if you are traveling to New York be sure to get the latest schedule information.
