Program gives veterans free home repairs

A non-profit program for veterans, House for Heroes, has agreed to renovate his house, which has broken windows, a decaying wooden railing on the porch and a faulty garage door. A crew of licensed volunteers will do the repair work free of charge.

11 runners head to Savannah for Run for the Heroes

It is part of the fourth annual Run for the Heroes/Run Across Georgia. In 2009, local builder John Teeples started the race across the state. He ran 260 miles from Columbus to Savannah in just five days to raise awareness and funds for House of Heroes.
