History, tradition, fun meet in Jessup for St. Ubaldo Day

The holiday originated in Gubbio, Italy, and the tradition was brought to Jessup in 1909. Citizens race around the town carrying statues of St. Ubaldo, St. Anthony and St. George atop wooden structures, which weigh 400 pounds each when fully assembled.
